Qur'an Text

Tawhid offers the Qur'an in four Arabic scripts so that readers can use the one they learned with:

Mushaf page and juz' divisions, sajdah markers, hizb and manzil boundaries follow the standard Madani mushaf layout.

Qur'an Translations

Tawhid offers 121 Qur'an translations covering more than 50 languages. The overwhelming majority come from the Tanzil Qur'an Navigator project, which has done more than almost anyone to make verified Qur'an translations freely available.

Each translation remains the work and property of its translator. Among them: Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Raza Khan, A. J. Arberry, Saheeh International, Muhsin Khan, Pickthall, Yusuf Ali and Abul Ala Maududi (English); Muhiuddin Khan and Zohurul Hoque (Bengali); Ma Jian (Chinese); Hasan Efendi Nahi, Feti Mehdiu and Sherif Ahmeti (Albanian); Besim Korkut and Mustafa Mlivo (Bosnian); Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır and Diyanet İşleri (Turkish); Fooladvand, Makarem Shirazi and Ansarian (Persian); Kuliev and Abu Adel (Russian); the King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex (Arabic — al-Muyassar); and many more, each named in the app when you select it.

Translation of the Qur'an is interpretation, not the Qur'an itself. We present translations alongside the Arabic, never in place of it.

Tafsir

108 works of tafsir across 20+ languages are available for download in the app, sourced through the Quranic Universal Library (QUL), a project of Tarteel Inc.

These include the classical corpus — Tafsir al-Tabari, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Qurtubi, Tafsir al-Baghawi, Tafsir al-Nasafi, Tafsir al-Jalalayn, al-Muharrar al-Wajiz of Ibn Atiyyah, Nazm al-Durar of al-Biqa'i and al-Tahrir wa'l-Tanwir of Ibn Ashur — alongside Tafsir al-Sa'di, Aysar al-Tafasir of Abu Bakr al-Jaza'iri, Ma'arif-ul-Qur'an, Bayan al-Qur'an, Tafsir Ahsanul Bayan and others.

Al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim, available here in around twenty languages, is the work of the Tafsir Center for Qur'anic Studies, who have made it freely available for the benefit of Muslims worldwide.

Recitations

Verse-by-verse and full-surah recitations are sourced through the Quranic Universal Library (QUL) and the Islamic Network audio CDN. Every recitation is the work of the reciter named beside it.

Islamic Radio

Tawhid's radio feature streams live from each broadcaster's own servers. We do not host, record or redistribute any broadcast.

Every channel — Qur'an recitation around the clock, reciter-specific channels and translated recitation channels — is provided by MP3Quran.net, whose long-running service and open developer API make this feature possible. We are grateful for their generosity in making it available to everyone.

Live Video

The Makkah live broadcast is played through the official YouTube player, streamed from the publishing channel. No video is downloaded, re-hosted or re-encoded by Tawhid.

Hadith Collections

Tawhid includes more than 52,000 ahadith across sixteen collections, with English and Urdu translations:

Each hadith is shown with its collection, book and chapter reference so it can be checked against the original.

Du'as & Adhkar

The du'a and adhkar collection holds 266 supplications across eleven categories — the morning and evening adhkar, the home and family, food and drink, travel, distress and more. Every single du'a carries its own reference to the Qur'an and the hadith collections it is reported in, shown in the app beneath the du'a itself.

The collection and its arrangement follow Hisn al-Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim), the well-known compilation of Shaykh Sa'id ibn Ali ibn Wahf al-Qahtani, may Allah have mercy on him.

The tasbih collection draws on the authentic adhkar reported in the hadith collections listed above, as do the Ramadan du'as and the du'as of the three ashra.

The Asma' al-Husna, presented with the meaning, a short reflection and the Qur'anic verses in which each name appears.

Prayer Times & Qibla

Tawhid's prayer-time engine is a Dart port of the Islamic Network PrayerTimes library, which itself descends from PrayTimes.js by Hamid Zarrabi-Zadeh — the calculation code that quietly sits behind a very large share of the Muslim apps in the world. Our thanks to him and to the Islamic Network maintainers.

Prayer times are calculated on your device and work offline. Local convention is applied by country where a recognised national authority publishes one.
